A sword is a bladed melee weapon intended for cutting or thrusting that is longer than a knife or dagger, consisting of a long blade attached to a hilt. The precise definition of the term varies with the historical epoch or the geographic region under consideration.
Swords were always the main weapon of choice throughout the period because of their versatility in combat. Unlike shorter weapons, like daggers or the early Medieval “seax”, a sword had reach and so could be used in a highly agressive way and could also be used as easily on horseback as on foot.
Use this tool for anything from removing limbs to splitting firewood or kindling for starting a fire. The purpose of the Double Bit Axe head is to have one side razor sharp and the other side more dull and rounded. Use the razor sharp side for chopping and cutting, and use the duller, rounded side for splitting.
