Baba Yaga
is a powerful and mysterious figure from Slavic/ Russianfolklore. She is often depicted as an old witch who lives deep in the forest in a magical hut that stands on chicken legs and moves on its own.
She is a complex character — sometimes a fearsome villain who eats or threatens heroes, and other times a wise helper who offers guidance, magical gifts, or tests of courage. Baba Yaga often flies through the air in a mortar, steering with a pestle and sweeping away her tracks with a broom, adding to her eerie, supernatural presence.
